Grinding Effect of Grinding Wheel
A grinding wheel is a grinding tool that continuously cuts and grinds tens of millions of hard, sharp, and temperature-resistant small abrasive particles on the surface of the workpiece through high-speed rotation operation, and continuously generates self-generated sharp particles and abrasive voids (pores) to continue grinding various materials.

How to Properly Choose the Right Grinding Wheel
| Grinding Conditions | Abrasives | Granularity | Bonding | Organization | Binder | |
| Invariable grinding conditions | Material of work-piece |
●Tensile strength above 30 kg/mm2,such as semi-steel and soft steel . should choose A type grinding wheel. ●Extremely high tensile strength above 50 kg/mm² such as quenched steel, should choose WA type grinding wheel. ●For hard and poor grindability work-piece like alloy steel, should choose DA.RA.DR.32A type grinding wheels. ●For cast iron, non-ferrous metals and non-metallic materials with low tensile strength (below 20 kg/mm²), should choose C type grinding wheel. ●For super-hard alloys and gemstones, please choose GC type grinding wheel. |
●Coarse grains for soft and highly ductile materials. ●Choose fine grains for hard and fragile materials. |
●Use hard grade when processing soft workpieces. ●Use soft grade when processing hard workpieces. ●Very soft copper, zinc and iron, etc. are often used with soft grade. |
●Soft and sticky workpieces are processed with open structure grinding wheels. ●Hard and fragile workpieces are processed with close structure grinding wheels. |
/ |
| Grinding option for stock removal、surface roughness、surface finish effect |
●Please select A.AZ type grinding wheel for heavy duty grinding and free grinding . ●GC for mirror finish effect grinding. |
●For high efficiency and heavy stock removal coarse grinding, select grit size from #10 to #30. ●Require both high grinding efficiency and the surface finish effect, use the mixed grit size of #243 and #303. ●Select fine grits for light stock removal and fine finish surface grinding. |
●Please select hard grade wheel on hand grinding and rough grinding ●Please select medium to soft grade wheels on fine precision grinding. |
●Please select open-structured grinding wheel for high-cost and rough grinding. ●Please select close-structured grinding wheels for fine finish/precision grinding. |
●Porcelain method (V) is used for rough and medium decoration. ●Resin method (B) Rubber method (R). ●Resin method for heavy loads and heavy free polishing (B). |
|
| Contact area | / |
●Use fine grit size when contact area is small. ●Coarse grain sizes are used for large contact areas. |
●Use hard grade when contact area is small. ●Use soft grade when the contact area is large. |
●Close-structured wheels for small contact area grinding. ●Open-structured wheel for large contact area grinding. |
/ | |
| Variable grinding conditions | Speed of grinding wheel | / | / |
●Select soft hardness for highspeed wheels. ●Select hard grade for low speed wheels. |
